Everything study abroad for the week of May 6, 2012
It’s hard to believe but the last time I wrote one of these the spring semester was barely a month old, and now we’re looking at just a little over a month left. I have to admit I’m somewhat anxious for it to end, partly because class is starting to wear on me, but more so because I’m looking forward to finally doing some serious traveling around the country that I’ve lived in for the past 9 months. Speaking of the awesomeness that is student traveling, we’ve got some news here on The Study Abroad Blog that you’ll probably want to take a look at down below.
I never save the good part for last, so here’s the newest big news on The Study Abroad Blog!

Win $50 to jump start your travel fundraising on myTab!
Traveling the world has to be one of the best parts of studying abroad, but it can also be one of the most expensive. I know from experience that it’s not always easy to stretch the college student budget, so The Study Abroad Blog has partnered with myTab to give your bank account a little boost. Every two weeks, a winner will be drawn from the pool of applicants (who will hopefully be study abroad students!), and will receive $50 in his or her myTab account. Check out the Giveaway page to learn more! |
Czeching out Central Europe
I’m not quite sure how to classify our trip to Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic, although it was definitely one of the more interesting. We discovered the phenomenon known as the “free tour” in Munich (quotation marks actually meaning something good in this case), we discovered Becherovka in Prague (which led to us being dropped off by a taxi in the middle of a highway at 2 AM then somehow wandering into a closed subway station that was also a central hub for human trafficking as we were told the next day), and in Vienna, one bite of a Kaisekrainer solidified my love for cheap street food. |
